Overview

The Inserter Operator II is an intermediate to high level position specific to the Inserting and Ink jetting area, as an employee this operator is proficient in at least one inserter or inkjet machine operation and has intermediate knowledge of USPS regulations and NextPage mail paperwork, they also should know and or understand the sorting process. This employee is responsible for interacting with varying levels of internal and external personnel requiring the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in written form if needed. Effectiveness in this role requires intermediate to high level of knowledge of the different processes in the department and a focus on safety protocols as outlined by the company in guidance by OSHA safety rules and mandates. This operator will assist, maintain, and help operate on any number of functional pieces of mailing equipment such as inserters, inkjet machines, stream and friction feeders under the guidance of a level III operator and be able to mentor and train a level I operator.

Your new role

An Inserter Operator is an entry level operator and is responsible for operating the inserter line. You will learn all about the inserter, shrink wrap machine, marker machine and pockets. Once trained you will train inserter line associates and maintain the machines in a condition that allows for a quality product on a daily basis. This is a work environment that fosters pride in being part of a winning team and promotes personal and company growth.

  • This position involves standing for 8+ hours per day.
  • Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus are all important for accurate printing.
  • You will often lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.
  • You will twist, turn, reach, pull, lift, squat, kneel and bend with a full range of movement for prolonged periods of time – up to 8 hours or more per day.
